Mahatma Gandhi 73rd Death Anniversary:---- Mahatma Gandhi, the unofficial 'Father of the Nation', was assassinated on January 30, 1948 at the age of 78 years by Nathuram Godse. Today we are remembering this great leader on his 73rd death anniversary. India marks the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, as Martyrs' Day or Shaheed Divas every year on January 30. It is also observed to pay homage to the freedom fighters who laid their lives for the country's independence. Born as  Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi  on October 2, 1869 in Gujarat's Porbandar, Mahatma Gandhi received his higher education in England before returning back to India and leading the freedom struggle against the British rule. Republic Day 2021: पढ़िए भारतीय संविधान से जुड़ी छोटी-बड़ी बातें . हिंदुस्तान में 26 जनवरी की खास अहमियत है. इस दिन हिंदुस्तान का संविधान (आईन) लागू हुआ था यानी देश में कानून के राज की शुरुआत हुई। भारत तो 15 अगस्त 1947 को आजाद हो गया था लेकिन 26 जनवरी 1950 को संविधान लागू होने के बाद भारत को सही मायनों में आजादी मिली थी । 21 तोपों की सलामी के बाद डॉ. राजेन्‍द्र प्रसाद ने राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहरा कर भारतीय गणतंत्र के ऐतिहासिक जन्‍म का ऐलान किया. दरअसल गणतंत्र दिवस और 26 जनवरी अपने देश में एक दूसरे के पर्याय हैं. 26 नवम्बर 1949 को भारतीय संविधान सभा की तरफ से संविधान को अपनाया गया और इसे लागू किया गया. अब सवाल उठता है कि इसे 26 नवम्बर 1949 को भी लागू किया जा सकता था लेकिन इसके लिए 26 जनवरी का दिन ही क्‍यों चुना गया. आइए जानते हैं इसके पीछे क्‍या वजहें थीं। 1949 को संविधान सभा के अध्यक्ष डॉ. राजेन्द्र प्रसाद को भारत का संविधान सुपुर्द किया गया. इस दिन भारत का संविधान बनकर तैयार हुआ था. • 1950- भारत एक संप्रभु लोकतांत्रिक गणराज्य ऐलान हुआ और भारत का संविधान लागू हुआ. • स्वतंत्र भारत के पहले और
