Story School से लौटकर सभी बच्चे घमंडी के बाग में खेलते थे। वह बाग नरम हरी भरी घास वाला और सुंदर था। पेड़ की टहनियों पर चिड़िया गाती तो बच्चे उन्हे सुनने के लिए खेलना बंद कर देते थे।"यहां हम कितने खुश हैं", वे एक दूसरे से कह ते । एक दिन घमंडी वापस आ गया। उसने अपने बाग में बच्चों को खेलते देखा।"तुम सब यहां क्या कर रहे हो?" वह चिल्लाया। सारे बच्चे वहां से बाग गए। यह मेरा बाग है और यह सिर्फ मेरे लिए है," घमंडी ने कहा। उसने बाग के चारो ओर एक चहारदीवारी बनाई। उसके बाहर एक बोर्ड टांग दिया -- बाग में आना सख्त मना है। अब बच्चो को खेलने के लिए कोई जगह नहीं बची। वसंत का मौसम आया। सभी जगह छोटे छोटे फूल खिलने लगे। नन्हीं चिड़ियां चहकने लगी परन्तु घमंडी के बाग में अभी भी जाड़ा ही था। वहां थी केवल बर्फ और ठंडी हवा। हवा ने कहा हमें ओलो को भी बुलाना चाहिए।" फिर क्या था , हर दिन तीन घंटे बड़े बड़े ओले बरसने लगे । घमंडी सोचता जल्दी ही मौसम बदलेगा, लेकिन न वसंत आया और न ही गर्मी। एक दिन घमंडी अपने पलंग पर लेटा था। उसे मधुर संगीत सुनाई दिया। एक छोटी सी चिड़िया उसकी खिड़की के ब...
